Individual Note:
     Allen Rulon Black, age 69, died Nov. 2, 2006 suddenly at his home. He was born April 23, 1937 in Ogden, Utah. The son of Rulon and Jessie Humphries Black. He married LaRene Wood on June 23, 1955 in the Manti Temple. Together they had six children, Debbie (Dennis) Iverson of West Jordan, UT, Allene Black of Spanish Fork, UT, Brent (Terrie) Black of Salem, UT, Fred (Connie) Black of Nephi, UT, Bev (Paul) McIntyre of Lehi, UT and Russell (Jennifer) Black of Spanish Fork, UT. They later divorced. He married LaVern Christensen Aug. 4 1984 in Provo, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple on Oct. 25, 1991. He counted LaVern's son Tracy (Sheryl) Dutson of Sandy, UT as one of his own. He received his education in The School Of Hard Knocks. He worked his earlier years in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator. He later moved into automobile sales working at various companies, the last being Given Ford where he retired in 1991. He has always loved music from the time he earned his first dollar playing steel guitar at Rubys Inn, Bryce Canyon. He has played in various bands most of his life. His love of music has been passed down to his grandchildren. The grand kids became his favorite hobby. He always talked about taking them on a new adventure, whether it be camping, shooting guns, driving lessons, or in search of the infamous wild horses in Wendover. He is survived by his wife, children, many grand and great grandchildren, two brothers; Leo (Luanne) Black of Apple Valley, UT, John (Julie) Black of Denver, CO and sister, Karen (Jim) Stott of St. George, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Drew Black and grandson, Lee Brady Mitchell. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Slate Canyon 2nd Ward 715 S. Utah Ave (1050 E), Provo, UT. Friends may call Monday 6-8 PM at the Walker Mortuary 85 E. 300 S. Provo, UT and Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church. Internment at the Provo City Cemetery.
