Albert Whiteman
Obituary - Albert J. Whiteman, 64, of Nampa passed away Aug. 4, 2003 at home with family by his side. A Funeral to honor and celebrate the life of Albert will be held at 3 p.m., on Friday Aug. 8, in the Chapel of Remembrance at the Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel (404 10th Ave. S., Nampa, Id 83651 ~ 466-3545). Military Honors will be performed by the United States Air Force.
Albert was born Sept. 22, 1938 in Ontario, Canada to Joseph and Ethel (Morrisseau) Whiteman on the Chippewa Indian Reservation and from birth was a U.S. Citizen. He attended Indian Boarding School for 10 years in St. Francis in Ontario, Canada graduating from High School in Hibbing, Minnesota.
In 1955 he joined the United States Air Force and served our country proudly through the Vietnam War. He worked at AB Dick and Multi-graphic, serving several states in the Northwest as a technician and recently had been working with Automotive Service Equipment of Boise.
He married Edna Slattery and had five children. He and Edna later divorced. On June 15, 1995 he married Betty Owens Eller.
Albert is survived by; his loving wife Betty, at their home in Nampa, five children, Darlene (and Marty) Bright of West Valley City, Utah, Albert Whiteman of Salt Lake City, Utah, Joseph (and Margaret) Whiteman of West Valley City, Utah, Gary (and Suzie) Whiteman of Salt Lake City, Utah and Chuck (and Cammy) Whiteman of Salt Lake City, Utah. He obtained an additional four loving children upon marrying Betty and they are; Gina Simmons of Prineville, Ore., Ruth (and Tony) Schlapia of Nampa, Scott (and Kari) Anderson of South Jordan, Utah and Darrell Anderson of Brigham City, Utah; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous other distant family and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.
